Oh, god has been doing mighty and wonderful things here this week. Actually, sitting right across from me right now is Pastor Lorenzo, a great man of God that many of you know, great leader in El Salvador, and just love this man of God and his family. But, we came in here to the country just a few days ago.

Speaker 2:

But we came in here to the country just a few days ago. And the nation of El Salvador wanted to start a brand new church in Tierra Blanca, and they decided to work together in the partnership of faith to start this brand new church. 700 people gathered from all different parts of El Salvador.

Speaker 1:

To be there for the first day of this church plant. What a great move of the Holy Ghost we had. God filled 84 with the Holy Ghost. Four brand new people were baptized in Jesus' name and Bishop Bermudez sent me a message today that 325 people reported notable miracles in their body.

Speaker 2:

And Bishop Bermuda just gave you the report that 325 people can be confirming curas and miracles in their body.

Speaker 1:

And I just think, wherever we are in the world right now, we need to thank God for the revival that he is giving to the nation of El Salvador, and I thank God for the partnership of faith that is in this nation. And I want to take a moment to give honor to Bishop Bermudez and the National Board. I thank God for their vision and their leadership, and just yesterday we were in another part of San Salvador. Training 200 plus pastors and this morning we drove to San Vicente we're about another 200 ministers from another section gathered together for apostolic training.

I want to share with you what I feel like the Lord has given me for you today.

Speaker 3:

Six leadership lessons from Nehemiah. So to understand the context of the book of Nehemiah and it's important to the story of redemption, ezra and Zerubbabel had already gone back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple and reestablish sacrifices and worship.

Speaker 2:

Ezra and Zerubbabel had already returned to Israel to build the temple and started the sacrifices and worship.

Speaker 3:

Nehemiah was still in Babylon while they were there reestablishing and rebuilding.

Speaker 2:

And Nehemiah was still in Babylon until they were rebuilding the temples.

Speaker 3:

It had been somewhere between 140 to 150 years since Jerusalem had been destroyed by Babylon.

Speaker 2:

And in that time it was like 140, 150 years when the temple was destroyed in Babylon.

Speaker 3:

Restoration and revival always comes on the heels of ruin. God has to restore that which is broken down.

Speaker 2:

God has to restore that which is broken down.

Speaker 3:

So Ezra and Zerubbabel rebuilt the worship and the temple, but they still needed the walls to not have separation from the world. We are still vulnerable to the enemy's attack.

Speaker 2:

So I want to say that we can have the correct glory and the correct separation, but if we still haven't built the wall in separation with the world, there will still be things that will happen in the church.

Speaker 3:

So Nehemiah was still in Babylon when he heard the walls were still flat on the ground and it broke his heart to hear of the awful situation that Jerusalem was in.

Nehemiah was a copper. He wasn't a wall builder. But God can give you the power and what is necessary to do something you never did before, to be a winner. Hallelujah.

But I want you to think about what his burden was, a burden for?

Speaker 2:

walls.

Speaker 3:

He didn't have a burden for the priesthood or the kingship or the opposite of a prophet. He had a burden for the priesthood or the kingship or the prophet, the office of a prophet he had a burden for walls.

Speaker 2:

He didn't have a call to be a king, to be a prophet, to be a priest. He had a call for the walls.

Speaker 3:

Jerusalem didn't need another Ezra or a Zerubbabel. They needed a Nehemiah to have a burden for walls.

Jerusalem didn't need another Ezra or a Zerubbabel. They needed Nehemiah to have a burden for walls.

Speaker 3:

God doesn't call you to do somebody else's work. He calls you and gives you a burden for a specific work. He doesn't need another Charles Robinette. He doesn't need another Lee Stone King. He needs you. He needs you, aleluia.

Speaker 2:

Nehemiah was a man of prayer. If you read the entire book of Nehemiah today, you will see it begins with prayer and it ends with prayer. The book of Nehemiah is a prayer book.

Likewise, not only was the city broken down with broken stones, but it was also a broken people in Jerusalem.

Speaker 2:

So he went back to rebuild the walls but ended up rebuilding people. The first six chapters of Nehemiah he rebuilds walls. The last half of the book he's rebuilding people.

Speaker 2:

He rebuilt the walls in 52 days, but it takes a lifetime to rebuild people.

Speaker 3:

It's easier to build buildings than it is to build people.

Speaker 2:

But we can't leave a legacy of buildings. Let's leave a legacy of people who've been restored by Jesus. Let's not forget our purpose is people.

Leadership does not begin with a pulpit or a spotlight, but leadership begins wherever you are, within the church or in a community. Wherever you are, you can have influence.

Even if you're not the one with the title or the position, you have influence in leadership.

Nehemiah had oppositions from people on the walls, not on the walls in the temple. Everywhere he went there was trouble. But you know what he did? He prayed every time.

Speaker 3:

There will always be people who are jealous, who don't like what you're doing, who oppose what you're trying to do, but if you're a person or a man or a woman with a call and a burden, you will continue in the work anyway.
